Well, my cousin Ariana is getting married in December in Mexico. We're going down to the wedding and started looking at airfare. I saw that Spirit Air could get us there for under $400/person. Wow, what a deal. My wife made a comment about them canceling flights lately, including her sister's recent 24hour wait to visit home. I told her I thought it was NWA that she flew but she indicated that it was indeed Spirit Air that she booked her flight on.
Based on this discussion I decided to do a lookup on Spirit Air. I came across Alex Rudloff's blog. I followed some of the additional links and stories. I also went to some non-blog websites based on my initial google search.
After reading all these reports and what I learned about their customer service I really don't think I'll trust Spirit Airlines to get me to Mexico on time. And if they didn't I don't think I'll trust them to make it right. I don't necessarily agree with some of the people that expected money not paid to the airline but the overall experience of people entrusting their travel to Spirit Air was excreble. And the CEO of Spirit Air certainly doesn't seem interested in changing things.
I guess I'm paying more for my airfare but I expect I'll be able to make the wedding without too much issue.
